Moving home is one of the most stressful events in your life, and you want to know that you have a removals company that is professional and dependable to help to make the process easier. We are frequently asked to help with peoples concerns when moving so here are our answers to the most commonly asked questions.

What removal services do you offer?

We are specialists in Home and Business Moving. Not only securely moving your items, but we also offer a full packing service.

Which areas do Move Removals cover?

We operate predominantly in the South West of England. Covering Radstock, Bath, Bristol, Frome, Wells, Trowbridge, Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire & Hampshire. These are our day to day areas of work and our standard rates apply within a 20 mile radius of Bath and Warminster.  We are a nationwide business however and can arrange jobs anywhere in the UK. What are Move Removals standard working hours?

We work 7 days a week, typically from 8am to 8pm. We will do our best to answer your call outside of these hours but please do not hesitate to leave us a message if we can’t get to your call. Alternatively email info@moveremovalsltd.co.uk.

How much notice do I have to give before the moving day?

It’s best to plan as far ahead in advance as possible. We recognise however that moving dates can be unpredictable and change so our best advice is f you are moving the whole house, you should book the removals service about 2 weeks in advance. Small moves and the moving of single items can be arranged short notice.

What is the best day to schedule a home or office removal?

It is often advised to try and avoid moving during the summer time period as moving companies are very busy at this time. Nevertheless, at Move Removals we believe you should be able to move whenever it is most convenient for you. There are many details that must be taken into consideration, e.g. children’s school transfer, work duties, business hours and even other parties but whatever your requiries, we can be on hand to make your move and smooth as possible.

Are my belongings insured whilst in the vehicle?

Absolutely. Yes, Move Removals are responsible for the items when we are moving them. We have all the equipment needed to assure a safe and secure move. All items will be wrapped and tied. However, should something happen, we provide insurance in transit for up to £10.000.

Can your movers help me with packing?

Yes, we provide packing service and packing materials. If you need help with packing, please arrange it in advance.

Can I do the packing myself?

Some people prefer to organize and pack their own belongings themselves. You can purchase all packing materials you would need from Move Removals and we would deliver them to you in plenty of time.

Can movers disagree to pack any of my items? I mean very precious, very large?

Yes, it may happen if you have an item that requires unique packing materials or packing techniques and you did not arrange it in advance. Our best advice would be to call Move Removals and one of our advisers will be more than happy to talk through your exact requirements.

Do I need to pay for a parking place on the removal day?

Yes, customer is responsible for arranging a parking space. If it’s a quick move you can pay at parkometer. If it’s a house move, you should arrange the suspension bay with your local council. Call us for advice on parking and any other moving day concern you may have.

Is the packing services included in moving service price?

No, there are different prices for packing and moving services. Packing is an optional extra as some customers prefer to pack items themsleves before the moving day. We can provide you with a package price for both packing and moving. We can even supply you with the packing materials in advance for an additional cost. The best thing to do is give us a call so we can talk through your requirements and give you a tailored price for your move.

How long does the move take?

Unfortunately there is no average time as each move is different. It all depends on the amount and kind of items you are moving, time of loading and unloading, distance between properties, weather conditions and many more variables. One of the biggest delays can be waiting for solicitors on the day. Move Removals are used to all of this and are happy to be as flexible as possible. If you need an estimate or more advice, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay in cash, or make a bank transfer (if it’s a fixed rate you will be required to pay 50% in advance). Unfortunately we no longer accept cheques, sorry.

How do you protect fragile items, clothes and other delicate things?

All Move Removals packers are professionally trained and use special cartons for each kind of items you may have: wardrobe boxes, boxes for books, etc. You can also purchase packing materials and removal boxes if you wish to do packing on your own. All our vans are in very good condition, very clean and fully equipped with trolleys, ropes, blankets, tools, gps etc to make the transit as smooth, safe and secure as possible. As always however, if there is anything particularly precious, valuable or fragile, please do let us know in advance so we can ensure we have the right packing materials available on the day.

What if something happens on the day?

We pride ourselves in high quality service. We spend time to plan every single move and discuss the details with our clients well in advance. However, if there is anything that our clients do not like during the move, it can be sorted by a simple phone call to our moving customer services team or an email can be sent to info@moveremovalsltd.co.uk. If it happens the manager will take care of your complaint and contact you shortly.

Are Move Removals registered?

Certainly! All moving companies in UK must be registered. When choosing the moving company it is worth checking it though.

Do my appliances have any special requirement for moving?

Many appliances need servicing before moving and require safety. Gas appliances must be serviced and disconnected by a registered and approved engineer. Remember the client is responsible for checking which appliances need servicing.

How can I book a service from Move Removals?

Our customer service team we will contact you to confirm your booking and will be on hand to take any enquiry you have during the move.

What if I book and I change my mind or my moving date gets delayed?

We charge an upfront booking fee of 20% to make sure our vehicles are booked for the date and time you have requested. If you change your mind you must inform us 72 hours in advance otherwise you will lose your deposit. In the unfortunate event that your date gets changed please give us a call and we can discuss your options.
